iPad + iBook – the future of reading for pleasure?

For years now, I’ve been able to read more quickly online than in print. A big part of my day is spent reading from a screen. When reading an actual book it’s hard for me to cope with the curve of the page and the low contrast medium.

All of which makes me a perfect target for the Apple iPad in combo with its new app iBooks. (The iBooks store will contain books from Penguin, Harper Collins, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan and Hachette.)

I can think of situations when the iBook/iPad team would be a good one to have on your side. Only, how on earth will we be able to go green and cut our personal power usage, with all these tempting iGoods coming our way so we can do things we once did on paper?
